I didn’t know…
- that Lucy was a Washington Redskins fan and knew their fight song by heart,
- that Lucy loved beer,
- that Lucy sat all day at a sports event with a broken ankle and wrist with her church’s young adult group because she didn’t want to ruin their day,
- that Lucy’s husband was a Marine who fought in Iwo Jima.
Lucy – they called her “Bootie” because her brothers named her “Beautiful” but her toddler niece couldn’t say that and came out with “Bootie.” Lucy was set free from Alzheimer’s Disease on Saturday, August 15. God welcomed her home! At the family gathering after the worship service, her family asked me how long ARPC served/ministered to Lucy. I said “She served us.” And she did… visits to shut-ins/the sick, the daily words of encouragement to us, the food she prepared and served.
Lucy – you were beautiful!
Your life was something beautiful for God. As the Good Book says ….
“You stood firm and were deeply rooted in Christ’s love…
Your Life was filled with all that God is.” (Ephesians 3: 17-18)
We are thankful!
