Upon interviewing with the Session at ARPC, I asked, “Why is being part of ECO important to you?” How impressed I was with the Session’s knowledge of ECO and our Essential Tenets, Mission and Core Values!

At ECO’s National Gathering in Houston, I got to spend some time with Shari and Craig Dobyns, Cindy and Gary Eccleston, Art Parker, and Aaron Moore. What a joy it was to get to know these fine ARPC leaders there! What a joy it was to worship God with 1500 + leaders in ECO! What a joy it was to learn from our speakers, who focused heartily on the theme: RENOVATE! based on Nehemiah 2:18.

YOU don’t need to miss out! The plenary speakers were tremendous! Art and Cindy’s favorite speaker was Et Stetzer! (Read about him here: Ed Stetzer bio.) He was funny and engaging – while providing us with golden nuggets. Condoleezza Rice needs no introduction; (John Ortberg introduced her as “Dr. Dr. Dr. x4); she shared what it was like to grow up in a Presbyterian pastor’s home in the South and about her faith and experience in politics. My friend Rev. Dr. Marnie Crumpler, pastor of Bethlehem PC in PA preached; their congregation of 1000+ lost their property in January as they transferred into ECO. She encouraged us to “Have Faith! and “Take Risks!” My absolute favorite speaker was Dr. Kyle Stroebel, professor of spiritual theology for Talbot Theological Seminary and Talbot’s Institute for Spiritual Formation programs. He brought 2 Cor. 12:9 “my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” to life!   Why my favorite? He shot through our pride without killing our entrepreneurial spirit.
