Feeding the hungry – Giving drink to the thirsty – Welcoming the stranger – Clothing the naked – Caring for the sick and those in prison….
Jesus Christ sends us out into our community and world to do these things for the least – the last – the lost. (Matthew 25). We believe that as His church we exist for others and that we experience life to the degree we turn away from self to the needs of a hurting world.
On any given Sunday, you will most likely hear appeals during our worship services to give of oneself and ones resources to meet the needs of God’s children. At Albemarle Road Presbyterian Church (ARPC), we strongly promote the involvement of everyone in our congregation in mission in the community and in the world.
There are many ways to serve others and promote the love of Christ Jesus and we believe that mission is critical to a healthy, growing church. Our Mission Ministry Team serves the central role of coordinating our named mission projects and is always seeking new ways to support missions and our missionaries. In addition to monetary gifts to numerous organizations, the commitment of time and talent is integral to “risk-taking mission” as we see it at ARPC.
We take with joyful seriousness the commandment of Jesus to go into the entire world with the gospel. We are always looking for new ways to connect with others to reach out into the world
